  H.K. Rainey received her Master of Fine Arts from Mills College in Oakland, California, where she was a two-time poetry editor of the literary journal 580 Split. She is a founding member of the literary collective 9st.   H.K. Rainey's work has appeared in Jacket Magazine, the Sand Canyon Review, deadpaper, The Walrus,  Bang Out SF, Corium Magazine, Full of Crow, Rusty Truck Magazine, New College Review (Tuscaloosa), Cider Press Review, sPARKLE and bLINK, Mad Rush Magazine; and the anthologies Word Trips: Poems from the First Coast  (Hidden Owl Books, 2007), So Speak Up! (Oakland, 2010)and Conversations at the Wartime Café: A Decade of War 2001-2011 (Ed. Sean Labrador Y Manzano). She has appeared in several reading series including Acker's Dangerous Daughters, the Bang Out Reading Series, Contingency, Quiet Lightning, Bitchez Brew, Lyrics & Dirges and Works in Progress. She co-curates the Anger Management & Revenge Reading Series in San Francisco. She recently returned to the South and lives in the small town of Hanceville, Alabama, with her invisible tan and black pug, Mr. Jenkins, who was found wandering alone on the streets of San Francisco.  

Performance Integration Analyst/ Outcomes Analyst at Sutter Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice

February 2008 - January 2011

Provide departmental support for Performance Integration Consultants as well as the Home Health and Hospice PI Managers, the Risk Manager, and the Education Team. Report to the Chief Clinical and Compliance Executive. Collect, review and analyze outcomes and chart audit data; assemble graphs to showcase trends as well as identify areas for improvement. Investigate, analyze and graphically represent health care outcomes data to organizational leadership. Created and managed a confidential database for tracking issues that could represent a significant risk to the organization or that could result in costly litigation. Provide database management and ongoing support to Risk Manager. Support education initiatives by streamlining workflow processes, creating and distributing CE certificates, planning and implementing the Competency Fair, and serving as an administrator for the HealthStream online education site. Re-design and maintain intranet portal for use by PI department staff, branch managers and clinical supervisors. Serve as SharePoint administrator. Assist executive leadership with ensuring that the organization adheres to legal compliance obligations and regulatory procedures. Serve on Policy and Procedures Committee.

Administrative Assistant at Lincoln Child Center Kinship

September 2007 - February 2008

Supported the Program Manager and Case Managers of the Lincoln Child Center Kinship Program, a not-for-profit organization. Analyzed and streamlined current systems to promote standardization and efficiency of workflow processes. Created new processes for keeping track of the company's resources such as cell phones, laptop computers, and miscellaneous equipment. Assisted Program Manager with the creation of a presentation to encourage city government participation in the organization's community initiatives. Created budget reconciliation tools that were adopted for use by the main organization's financial department.

Senior Legal Support Specialist at AOL LLC (a division of Time Warner, Inc)

February 2001 - September 2006

Senior specialist on a team handling the highest level customer service escalations. Acted as liaison between state and governmental regulatory agencies (FCC, FTC, PUC, Attorneys General and private attorneys) and the corporation. Offered settlements to consumers to prevent expensive class-action lawsuits. Assured compliance with legal regulations enforced by Federal and State agencies for a telecommunications company with more than 25M members. Performed as senior specialist on a team that minimized financial risk to company by preventing costly class action litigation. Advanced to the role of senior legal specialist within nine months of obtaining a position with the department. Maintained relationships with consumer advocacy agencies such as the Better Business Bureau and the Public Utilities Commission. Assured legal compliance as directed by State Attorneys General offices and the Federal Trade and Federal Communications Commissions. Maintained a 95% customer satisfaction rate while resolving customer concerns.
